About Us
Warren and Lexa take a unique hands-on, grass roots success oriented approach to Open Innovation that is different than anyone else in this business arena. Having spent years in the trenches working with both inventors and companies looking for outside innovation, they are comfortable translating between the two cultures. This results in well vetted and negotiated licensing agreements that profitably benefit all parties and stand up to the test of time. They are also experts in the Intellectual property field.
For almost twenty years Warren has overseen the Open Innovation product programs for several industry leading companies including publicly traded Lifetime Brands in the housewares and tabletop arenas (Farberware, Kitchen Aid and 40 other brands), Techtronics Industries Power Tool Group in the power tool and hardware industries (Ryobi, Rigid, Hart Tools and other brands) and Merchant Media in the Direct Response Television category (True Touch and other brands).
He was also the person behind the launch of several highly successful consumer products including MISTO, The Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer and the SmartSpin Storage Container System. Warren currently serves as the Open Innovation Director for MarketBlast, the premier platform for innovators submitting new, unique & innovative products directly to leading companies. Warren personally interacts with thousands of inventors every year and has initiated well over 100 new consumer product licensing agreements that have collectively generated more than a billion dollars in retail sales.
Warren is also a well-known advocate for inventor rights. He served for 12 years as the President of the United Inventors Association, a national 501c3 non-profit with high ethical standards that helps inventors through education, advocacy and the sponsorship of inventor booth pavilions at industry trade shows such as the National Hardware and Housewares Shows.
Warren is a member of the National Pro Bono Patent Council (PBAC) and the Department of Commerce Council for Innovation Inclusion (CI2). He also co-chairs the Creator Committee for the US Intellectual Property Alliance (USIPA). Warren’s book, Inventor Confidential: The Honest Guide to Profitable Innovation, is published by Harper Collins. He lives with his wife Lynn in Southern Connecticut and has three daughters.
Lexa has been working with inventors for over five years, as an Ambassador with the United Inventors Association and most recently as the Executive Director of New England Invents, the oldest and one of the most active inventor organizations in the U.S.
Her passion for inventing and helping other inventors is fueled by lessons learned with her own patented product invention, Pakka Cargo Caddie, a stowable trunk shelf that nearly doubles usable trunk space for most SUV/CUVs on the market. She licensed Cargo Caddie in May of 2023, and has begun development on several other consumer products.
Prior to her launching the above efforts, Lexa was Principal of 3210 Consulting, a website design and software development company she founded in 2002. She oversaw all business development and acted as the company’s chief business analyst for the company’s 65+ small business clients. She sold the company after 11 years.
Lexa received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, and resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and their three children.
